Joseph H. LaMore, Jr. has
handled thousands of Criminal cases, ranging
from DWI to First Degree Murder, and
virtually every crime in between. His
criminal defense practice includes
representation in all Maryland State and
Federal Courts.
After graduating with honors from the
University of Maryland School of Law, and
serving as a law clerk to an Anne Arundel
County Circuit Court Judge, Mr. LaMore was
sworn-in as an Assistant State’s Attorney
for Anne Arundel County. While in the
State’s Attorney’s Office, Mr. LaMore
prosecuted felony and misdemeanor criminal
cases for the State of Maryland, handled
numerous jury trials, and was awarded the
Annapolis City Police Department
Distinguished Service Citation, by the Mayor
of Annapolis.
As a private criminal defense
lawyer, Mr. LaMore has represented clients
in both routine and high-profile criminal
matters including assault, theft, drug
offenses, murder, auto manslaughter, weapons
charges, DUI, traffic violations, juvenile
offenses, and most other crimes. His
clients uniquely benefit from his courtroom
experience and criminal law knowledge,
developed as both a prosecutor and private

Mr. LaMore has accompanied
police officers on ride-a-longs involving
felony drug arrests and domestic violence He
has been nationally certified at the Anne
Arundel County Police Training Academy in
Field Sobriety Testing, which is the same
testing utilized by police officers across
the State of Maryland in DWI / DUI arrests.
He also has attended the Anne Arundel County
Police DNA and Forensic Evidence Seminar,
the Maryland State Police Accident
Reconstruction Seminar, and the United
States District Attorney’s National
Conference on Juvenile Justice.
The United States Federal Courts have also
acknowledged Mr. LaMore’s legal skills by
appointing him as a Federal Criminal Justice
Act Attorney, for purposes of representing
individuals charged with Federal crimes.
